Israel is one of the biggest names in the Diamond business. But guess how many Diamond mines Israel actually has? Zero... not a single one. But wait, how do you become one of the biggest Diamond powerhouses in the world, but not actually have any Diamond mines in your country? Dan Gertler. He is the son of a Diamond dealer and the grandson of the co-founder of Israel's Diamond Exchange. He arrived in Congo in 1997 and built his fortune through corrupt mining deals that stripped billions in wealth from Congo. While his people were left to suffer in poverty. So stereotype Zayo, he's getting filthy rich off of dirt, poor people's labor, not helping them at all. And the United States even sanctioned him one time for corruption. Congo reportedly lost 1.3 billion dollars. Who's really profiting from Africa as well? So not only is he getting filthy rich off of this, but he's actually stealing on top of it. You can't get any more ridiculous than Dan Gertler.
